After the declaration of results in October, there had been many ups & downs in the politics of Maharashtra. The recently concluded election was a close one with numerous big leaders failing to secure their respective seats. Amid the recent post-poll developments, there has been the rise of a new youth leader in Marathwada: “Dhiraj Vilasrao Deshmukh”. Dhiraj won with a whopping margin of 121482 votes from ‘Latur rural’ constituency. This is by far the biggest margin for a debutant. One can ascertain the popularity of Dhiraj in his constituency by the fact that the second position was taken by NOTA in the election results. 199601 was the total number of voters who turned out to exercise their right to vote, out of which Dhiraj secured 135006 votes, which constitutes 67.63 % 0f total votes.
